Thing #8

What do you like about RSS and newsreaders?
I'm not sure I like it. Does it narrow my view too much??

How do you think you might be able to use this technology in your school or personal life?
What does this provide that bookmarks don't?

How can libraries use RSS or take advantage of this new technology?
The RSS should be personalized to each persons interests so I'm not sure how they could/should use it.

Wow! One of the best things I got out of 23 things was Google Reader! I loved being able to drop the player blogs I was reading into the Reader and then only check one place to see if they had written anything new. I used it later for some professional blogs and then only checked it every now and then but I could pick those posts with topics that sounded interesting to me and ignore the rest. I am a librarian and it has been suggested to me by one of my teachers doing 23 things now that I could put a few professional/technology blogs into a reader and link it on our library page for teachers to keep them in the loop. I hope you find time to take another look. Just pick a few of the Library2Play player blogs and put them in and see what others are saying?
